Model library in the basement of building 10.21
More than 2000 fascinating exhibits of overall systems, subsystems, components and performance demonstrators are part of the exhibition since the opening in 2013.
A major segment of the models can be found in the actual model library in the basement of building 10.21. Further fascinating models are for example in the lobby of the mechanical engineering building and in the hallways of the IPEK.
Visit the model library in the basement during the regular occurring opening hours. It is our goal to make mechanical engineering tangible and literally comprehensible. The model library lives through its visitors and exhibits.
In addition, every model is accessible through a web application and therefore globally available. You find helpful descriptions and information about each exhibit in the web application. 3D-Models have been recently added to the collection. You have access to the web application via the following LINK (http://www.ipek.kit.edu/mbib/) or by scanning the QR-Codes that are attached to every model and guide you straight to the appropriate information.
By donations in kind, new arrivals could be integrated like a sweeper from Kärcher as well as gears and bearings from Schaeffler or Getrag.
