Das Antriebssystem umfasst ergänzend zum Antriebsstrang den Energiespeicher und wird verkürzt mit Antrieb bezeichnet. Die Antriebssystemtopologie bezeichnet die hardwareseitige Auswahl, Anordnung und Dimensionierung der [Subsysteme und der] Antriebskomponenten sowie die Gestaltung der energetischen Verknüpfungen, wobei der Einbauort, die Orientierung und die Schnittstellen zum Restfahrzeug nicht definiert sind und somit zum Gestaltungsraum gehören.

The drive system comprises the energy storage system in addition to the powertrain. The drive system topology refers to the hardware-based selection, arrangement and dimensioning of the [subsystems and the] drive components as well as the design of the energy links, whereby the installation location, orientation and interfaces to the rest of the vehicle are not defined and thus belong to the design space.
