Produkt-Produktions-Co-Design ist die hoch vernetzte und parallelisierte Entstehung, d.h. Planung, Entwicklung und Realisierung von Produkten und dem zugehörigen Produktionssystem bis hin zum effizienten und effektiven Betrieb der Produktion und der Gestaltung zugehöriger Geschäftsmodelle sowie der strukturierten Außerbetriebnahme der Produkte und Produktionssysteme durch nachhaltige Konzepte im Sinne einer Kreislaufwirtschaft. Die Planung erfolgt dabei zwingend über mehrere Produktgenerationen und die zugehörige Produktionssystemevolution hinweg.

Product-production co-design is the highly networked and parallelized emergence, i.e. planning, development and realization of products and the associated production system through to the efficient and effective operation of production and the design of associated business models as well as the structured decommissioning of products and production systems through sustainable concepts in the sense of a circular economy. In this context, planning is necessarily carried out across several product generations and the associated production system evolution.
