Gamification, serious games, game-based engineering - the use of games and game elements in the work of engineers

Monopoly, soccer, Clash of Clans, betting games - successful games are characterized by the fact that they motivate players to play them again and again. Are you interested in how this motivation can also be used in product development?

Task:

The motivation and commitment that comes from playing games is also present in an ideal work environment and with a perfect product. If this is not the case, motivation can be increased through the use of games or game elements. Product developers can use this to improve their products or make their working day more enjoyable. In your bachelor or master thesis, you can investigate how this can be used successfully in product development and what potential it offers. The task of the thesis is to familiarize yourself with the use of gamification and serious gaming and to develop fields of action for future research on gamification and serious gaming in product development.

Profile:

  • You are studying mechanical engineering, engineering education, industrial engineering or similar.
  • You are interested in games and/or the potential they offer for developers.
  • You enjoy exploring new subject areas in product development.
