Contents
  • Students acquire the skills to embed their knowledge of product development in innovative business model development in order to actively shape the change to user-oriented product-service systems within the next decades.
  • Students are able to describe the connections between business models and today's challenges such as global competitive pressure, decarbonization and data sovereignty.
  • They develop the basics of the technical requirements that must be created in product development for the selection and introduction of different servitization business models.
  • Students will also be able to describe the basics of building industrial ecosystems within business models (end-to-end system design).
  • Using the TRUMPF machine tools case study as an example, the first industrial pay-per-part business model is discussed and further ideas are explored in student teamwork.
  • The course concludes with a workshop in which the product launch in European markets is actively developed in a practice-oriented manner.
