Wet clutch systems will continue to be present in many powertrain topologies in the future, not only in the field of vehicle technology, partly due to increasing hybridization and the automation of transmissions. The progressive change in mobility sometimes leads to changed forms of excitation in powertrains due to increasing hybridization. This also results in a change and increase in the demands on vibration-reducing components. The wet multi-plate clutch represents one possibility for reducing vibrations in future hybrid powertrains, among others. Simulation models of the clutch system facilitate early, targeted design of the functional extension. In order to be able to take into account interactions with the rest of the powertrain system, a simplified model of the powertrain is necessary.

Task:

As part of the thesis, a simplified hybrid powertrain is to be modeled for selected operating states, e.g. purely internal combustion engine, as a multi-mass oscillator using MATLAB/Simulink. In addition, the existing partial model of a wet clutch will be implemented. The modeling will be completed by the development of statements on model quality and model limits by means of a validation. The work is rounded off by first simulative comparisons with the model of a conventional powertrain.

Profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's student in the field of mechanical engineering, mechatronics and information technology, engineering sciences or similar course of study.
  • Independent and reliable way of working
