The text outlines the development and analysis of a Fuel Cell-Battery Hybrid system for trucks, emphasizing the importance of energy management systems (EMS) in optimizing power distribution and reducing component degradation.
A hybrid powertrain model was created in MATLAB®, including fuel cells, batteries, and other components, to design and evaluate various EMS. Control strategies based on state machines and fuzzy logic were developed for real-time operation and adjusted to actual operating data.
Simulations assessed the EMS in terms of hydrogen consumption, fuel cell degradation, and battery stress, with each system showing advantages in specific scenarios. Detailed analysis and recommendations for EMS usage in different situations are provided.
