Themenschwerpunkte

Das Ziel unserer Forschung ist die Entwicklung von Methoden und Prozessen des Engineerings von Morgen für die industrielle Produktentwicklung und die universitäre Lehre im Maschinenbau. Im Zentrum unserer Forschung stehen aktuelle Herausforderungen des Advanced Systems Engineerings und der Entwicklung Cyber-physischer Systeme. In Innovationsformaten generieren wir unmittelbare Wirkung in der Entwicklungspraxis. Unser Alleinstellungsmerkmal ist die ganzheitliche Betrachtung von Entwicklungsmethoden und -Prozessen von der Unternehmensstrategie über das Innovationsmanagement, Produktmanagement und die Vorentwicklung bis hin zur technischen Problemlösung mit dem Menschen im Mittelpunkt.

  • Entwicklung in verteilten Teams: Produktentwicklung in Zeiten der Globalisierung: Wir digitalisieren die Zusammenarbeit und ermöglichen eine weltweite Kollaboration über Entwicklungsstandorte und Kulturen hinweg.

  • Produktstrategie & Vorausschau: Der Blick nach vorne ist unverzichtbar, um auch morgen erfolgreich zu sein! Der Einsatz situations- und bedarfsgerechter Methoden der strategischen Potenzialfindung ist damit zwingend erforderlich, um kreislauffähige und innovative Produktarchitekturen und Systemgenerationen planen.

  • Entwicklungsmethoden: Die Problemlösungsmethodik SPALTEN ist eine universelle Methodik zur systematischen Problemlösung. Wir forschen an virtuellen Entwicklungsmethoden, um kreative Potenziale auszuschöpfen.

  • Nachhaltige Produktentwicklung und Kreislaufwirtschaft: Höherwertige R-Strategien (Reuse, Refurbish/Repair, Remanufacture) bieten hohes Potenzial, aber große Herausforderungen in der Umsetzung. Wir forschen an Methoden und Prozessen, um Produkte für die Kreislaufwirtschaft auf Subsystem- ebene generationsübergreifend zu entwickeln und das zugehörige Produktionssystem mitzudenken (Produkt-Produktions CoDesign).

  • Systemmodellierung und Modularisierung: Der Komplexität heutiger Cyber-physischer Systeme kann durch (Model-Based) Systems Engineering (MBSE) und Sichten-basiertem Entwickeln begegnet werden. Um über den gesamten Produktlebenszyklus wettbewerbsfähig zu bleiben, müssen Updates und Upgrades vorgedacht werden.
